FBI and allies seize infrastructure of China's Integrity Technology
The FBI, U.S. Justice Department and agencies from seven allied nations announced on October 8 the seizure of infrastructure belonging to Beijing-based Integrity Technology Group, which they call a commercial front for Chinese state-sponsored hacking. The operation dismantled the MicroScan and FishHub platforms and seven domains, including c0cc.cc.
- Seven domains seized, including c0cc.cc, the front end for the MicroScan scanner
- MicroScan probed networks via a botnet of IoT devices infected with a Mirai variant
- FishHub supported spear-phishing and email theft from governments, hospitals and police
- The campaign dates to at least 2021 and used over 1,300 penetration-testing scripts
