HP Googlebook 14c review: premium hardware at $1299, limited OS

The HP Googlebook 14c offers a metal chassis, a 2.8K 120 Hz OLED screen, a Snapdragon X1E-80-100 and a 70 Wh battery for $1299. The main drawback is Googlebook OS: Android apps only, heavy reliance on the internet, no 5G or HDR, and just two USB-C ports.

• 2.8K 120 Hz OLED with over 500 nits, but no HDR support
• Snapdragon X1E-80-100 at roughly 45 W TDP, no performance drop on battery
• Only two USB-C ports without USB 4.0 or 5G; some Android apps fail
• $1299 at Best Buy, battery life below expectations for a 70 Wh cell
