Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Preview: Linear Early Game, New Materia Leveling and a Gigas Boss
IGN played an early slice of Final Fantasy VII Revelation at New York Comic Con, covering a linear path to the North Crater with a Gigas boss fight and a party of Cloud, Cid and Vincent. Materia now levels via consumable fragments, and auto-loot is on by default. The game launches in April.
- Demo covers Chapter 1: a linear route to the center of the North Crater
- Materia levels via fragments: 200 of them gave Fire Materia about a third of a level
- Item Transmuter auto-loot is enabled by default, unlike Rebirth where it unlocked after the campaign
- Cid has a rhythmic combat style, while Cloud's Summoner job calls Ifrit, Shiva and Titan
