A developer wrote a driver that turns the PlayStation 5 HD Camera into a webcam with real depth-based background blur. A 90-byte patch unlocks 1080p60, and depth is computed in GPU shaders at about 9 ms per frame. The project is free under GPL-3.0.
- A 90-byte patch unlocks 1080p60 instead of the stock 30 fps
- The second sensor sends 960x540, fitting 320 MB/s of the 393 available
- Depth runs on GPU at about 9 ms per 1080p frame on an RTX 3060 Ti
- Windows 11 gets 1080p60 and blur; Linux and macOS lack blur
