Council rejects 80MW data center in northern Italy
The city council of Cologno Monzese in Lombardy unanimously rejected an 80MW data center proposed by Officine Mak and 2C Sviluppo Immobiliare at the former Torriani industrial site. The council cited massive water and electricity consumption, high land footprint and technological waste as conflicting with its environmental goals. The project was expected to generate €12 million ($13.4m) in fees.
