Petraeus: AI could direct battlefield weapons by 2030

Former CIA director David Petraeus said AI could begin coordinating networks of battlefield sensors and weapons by 2030, with decisions made with little or no human input. He expects "agentic AI staff officers" that never sleep, and growing use of autonomous drones in Ukraine by the end of 2026.
