Googlebook battery life falls short in first benchmarks

Tom's Guide tested the first five Googlebooks: the HP Googlebook 14 lasted 11 hours 52 minutes, Acer and Lenovo models 10 hours 25 minutes each, the Dell XPS Googlebook just under 10 hours, and the Asus Googlebook 14 only 6 hours 50 minutes. Google claims at least 14 hours, but its testing uses 100 nits, dark theme and Battery Saver mode.

• HP Googlebook 14 lasted 11h 52m; Acer and Lenovo hit 10h 25m
• Asus Googlebook 14 managed only 6h 50m, possibly a defect
• Dell XPS 13 and MacBook Air M5 lasted 14h 57m and 15h 37m
• Dropping from 120Hz to 60Hz added nearly 2 hours of runtime
