Google's data center design chief jumps ship to Anthropic

John M. Wilson, who spent six years leading Google's global data center design and construction, has joined Anthropic as a technical staff member overseeing EMEA capacity delivery. Anthropic has recruited a string of former Google infrastructure specialists covering electrical systems, security, energy and compute finance.

• Wilson oversaw data center development and subsea programs at Google
• He will lead capacity delivery across Europe, the Middle East and Africa
• He previously led design and construction for Amazon in Europe
• Anthropic has hired at least 10 former Google infrastructure staff
