Meteomatics unveils Strato drone that climbed to 34,245 feet
Swiss weather tech company Meteomatics has unveiled Strato, a multicopter drone it says reached 34,245 feet (10,438 meters) to collect atmospheric data up to the stratosphere. The aircraft measures temperature, humidity, pressure and wind, withstands 80 mph winds, uses active de-icing and returns to its launch site unlike weather balloons.
