Volkswagen recalls 22,524 ID.4 EVs over battery fire risk, caps charging at 80%

Volkswagen is recalling 22,524 ID.4 SUVs from model years 2023–2026 because charging the high-voltage battery above 80% could trigger thermal propagation and a fire. The root cause is still unknown; VW has asked supplier SK Battery America for production details and will mail owner notices on November 27, 2026.
