First Flock Conviction: Texas Officer Gets 5 Years for 25,000 Searches
Zachary Anthony Klein, an 11-year veteran of the Lufkin, Texas police, pleaded guilty to 100 felony counts of misuse of official information and was sentenced to five years in prison. Over two years he ran more than 25,000 personal queries in Flock Safety's license plate recognition system, tracking his ex-girlfriend and her circle. It is the first criminal conviction for abusing Flock, with at least 27 officers under investigation across seven states.
