Florida Asks Court to Force Meta to Redesign Facebook and Instagram for Teens
Florida is asking a court to compel Meta to structurally change Facebook and Instagram features it says drive compulsive use among minors, including infinite scroll, autoplay video, push notifications and algorithmic feeds. The state cites COPPA and its consumer protection law, seeking stronger age gating, limits on collecting and monetizing minors' data, and civil penalties. Meta says its Teen Accounts already apply automatic restrictions for users under 18.
