Walmart and Wing to launch Seattle-area drone delivery in 2027
Walmart and drone operator Wing, an Alphabet subsidiary, plan to bring automated drone delivery to the Seattle area in 2027. The partners are scaling to nearly 20 U.S. metro areas, aiming to offer 30-minute delivery from more than 270 stores and reach over 40 million potential customers.
- Wing drones fly up to 60 mph and serve homes within six miles of a store
- Payloads up to five pounds, from groceries to small electronics
