Tesla Targets Over 1,000 Optimus Robots Per Week by End of 2026
Tesla aims to ramp Optimus production to more than 1,000 humanoid robots per week by the end of 2026, roughly a 10x increase over Q2 2026. The company converted Model S and Model Y production areas for robot assembly in just 46 days, but building hands and forearms remains a largely manual challenge. Musk has said Optimus could go on sale by late 2027 at $20,000–$30,000, while analysts expect $50,000–$100,000.
