Apple is preparing its biggest smart home push yet, with a hub codenamed J490 featuring a roughly six-inch display and LG-developed accessories: a doorbell, deadbolt lock, thermostat and three cameras. The launch is expected on October 13 alongside an updated HomePod mini and a new Apple TV.

• Hub J490 has a ~6-inch display on a tilting arm; wall-mount J491 also in development
• LG-made accessories: doorbell, deadbolt, thermostat, indoor, outdoor and floodlight cameras
• Deadbolt supports ultra wideband to unlock as an authorized iPhone approaches
• Hub price expected near $350; launch slipped from 2024 to October 13
