VPS audit: Tencent Cloud IPs are 6x more likely to be blacklisted than Alibaba Cloud

A study of 360 IPs across 12 cloud providers found 6 of 30 Tencent Cloud addresses on blocklists versus 1 of 30 for Alibaba Cloud. Both providers have equally empty IP metadata (PTR, RDAP), so reputation cannot be judged from reverse DNS or WHOIS.

• Tencent Cloud: 6 of 30 IPs blacklisted, Alibaba Cloud: 1 of 30
• Tencent has no PTR record for 29 of 30 IPs, Alibaba for 30 of 30
• All six Tencent listings appear on a single list, dnsbl.spfbl.net
• Chinese providers combined are cleaner: 11.7% vs 13.3% for others
