Boeing tests MUM-T software linking Super Hornets to MQ-25A drone tanker
Boeing demonstrated Manned Unmanned Teaming software at the Emerald Flag exercise at Eglin Air Force Base, letting pilots coordinate with uncrewed aircraft over Link 16. The test used a Beechcraft 1900D and an E90 King Air, not the MQ-25A itself; integration into the Stingray and F/A-18 Super Hornet follows further flight tests.
- MUM-T software tested on Beechcraft 1900D and King Air E90 via Link 16
- The MQ-25A itself was not involved in the demonstration
- In September the U.S. Navy awarded Boeing $562M for three MQ-25A aircraft
- First lot deliveries are expected to begin in 2029
