Russia to double internet censorship budget in 2027, mulls VPN traffic fee

Russia plans to spend about 20 billion rubles (~$235m) on its ASBI internet filtering system in 2027, double the earlier plan. Officials are also discussing a fee for international 5G traffic above 50GB and an "Anti-Fraud 3.0" package targeting VPN hosting providers.
