Kyiv Deploys 12 AI Turrets That Down Fiber-Optic Geran-5 Drones

Ukrainian firm UFORCE has deployed 12 AI-guided Lyut-Khyzhak turrets across Kyiv that on October 5, 2026 recorded the first confirmed intercepts of Russia's jet-powered Geran-5 drone, which flies up to 600 km/h and is steered via fiber-optic cable, making it immune to jamming. Each turret pairs a 7.62mm machine gun with dual thermal cameras and engages at up to 800 meters.
