FBI Arrests 'Most Wanted' Developer of Ploutus ATM Malware
Anibal Alexander Canelon Aguirre, 50, known as 'Prometheus' and 'The Engineer', has been arrested for developing the Ploutus ATM malware used by Tren de Aragua in jackpotting attacks. He had been on the FBI's top 10 most wanted list since March 2026, the first person added for cybercrimes. A total of 120 defendants have been charged in the conspiracy.
