Chandigarh court suspends three Facebook pages over AI-generated political videos

A civil court in Chandigarh ordered Meta to suspend public access to three Facebook pages until October 22, 2026, over AI-generated videos targeting politician Amandeep Jaintipur. Judge Kuldeep Singh said uncontrolled AI manipulation "may adversely affect the health of our democracy" and amounts to "manufacturing public consent."
