Backblaze's Drive Stats report covering 354,415 drives shows lifetime failure rates for enterprise HDDs ranging from 0.5% to 5.88%, with a fleet-wide AFR of 1.41%. The drive model predicts reliability far better than the "enterprise" label: Seagate's 14TB ST14000NM0138 fails nearly 11 times as often as WD's 14TB WUH721414ALE6L4 at 0.54%.
