Group-IB: 190 APAC ransomware incidents in August 2026

Group-IB recorded 190 ransomware incidents in Asia-Pacific in August 2026, up 26.7% month over month. India led with 32 incidents, followed by Australia with 24 and Taiwan with 20, while manufacturing was the most targeted sector at 38 incidents. A single group, The Gentlemen, accounted for 37 of the attacks.
