LG to fly five components on Nuri rocket's fifth launch
LG Science Park and startup Unmanned Exploration Lab built a cubesat carrying five components from LG Innotek, LG Energy Solution and LG Electronics, set to launch on the Nuri rocket on the 7th. Once in a 570 km orbit, the satellite will test the parts sequentially over about 60 days using a COTS approach.
- Payload includes an LG Innotek camera, LG Energy Solution battery pack, LG Electronics power module, attitude control actuator and antenna
- Component tests will run for about 60 days at an altitude of 570 km
- The mission relies on COTS parts instead of costly space-grade hardware
- LG plans to launch its own cubesat in 2028
