IWF reports 40% rise in AI child sexual abuse material

The Internet Watch Foundation assessed 6,310 AI-generated child sexual abuse images in the first half of 2026, 40% more than the whole of 2025 (over 4,500). Most images depicted girls aged seven to 13. The IWF is calling for binding AI regulation.
