Oregon data center backlash grows over $450M in tax breaks

Oregon data centers received more than $450 million in property tax exemptions in 2026, including about $85 million in the Hillsboro area. A grassroots coalition led by 1000 Friends of Oregon has helped unseat a state senator and sued Hillsboro and companies tied to the facilities, including CoreWeave, Adobe and Nvidia.
