Chip shortage makes TV processors pricier than panels for the first time
According to Omdia, processing boards now account for 45–50% of TV costs in Q3 2026, up from just over 10% in Q2 2025. DRAM prices hit $25 (4.4x year-on-year), NAND reached $30.50 (nearly 9x), and Wi-Fi modules jumped from $33.90 to $118.20. The AI-driven component shortage is expected to last through 2027.
