Transportation seeks $30B for AI air traffic control modernization
The U.S. Transportation Department requested an additional $30 billion from Congress to modernize air traffic control, including IT systems and AI tools. The AI-powered SMART tool, which combines 200 data streams, has been running at Washington-area airports since Sept. 22.
