Gemini app adds 'Map' tool, replaces '/' with '@' for skills

Google has added a 'Map' tool to the Gemini app on Android and iOS: it opens a live map of your location with a focus area, search, and an 'Explore this area' button that adds 'Map Area' to the prompt. In the Google app beta 17.63, the forward slash '/' for invoking skills is being replaced by '@', already used for Connected Apps (soon Connectors).

• The 'Map' tool is available on Android and iOS, but not on the web
• The map shows your current location with a circular focus area and search
• 'Explore this area' adds 'Map Area' to the prompt box
• In beta 17.63, '/' is replaced by '@' for skills and connectors
