Niantic Spatial uses 30 billion Pokémon Go scans to guide Coco Robotics delivery robots

Niantic Spatial built a Visual Positioning System from over 30 billion images collected by Pokémon Go and Ingress players through AR scanning. Coco Robotics uses it for centimeter-level navigation where GPS fails. The sidewalk robots collect video, audio and location data from bystanders who never consented.
