Webb measures extreme gas outflows from distant 'dead' galaxies

Astronomers using the James Webb telescope recorded the most powerful gas outflow from a 'dead' galaxy outside the local Universe. Even such an extreme outflow, the researchers conclude, may not stop star formation permanently.
