Android's New App Sideloading Rules Are Now Live in Four Countries

Google's "Advanced Flow" sideloading guardrails are now active in Brazil, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia: installing apps from unregistered developers requires enabling a Developer Options setting, authenticating, restarting the device, and waiting 24 hours. The permission lasts 7 days or indefinitely until a factory reset.

• Rules apply to Android 7 and later in Brazil, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia
• Users must enable Developer Options, activate the setting, authenticate, and restart
• A 24-hour wait follows before sideloading apps from unregistered developers
• Permission lasts 7 days or indefinitely until factory reset; more countries to follow
