Micro Center Reportedly Requires ID and No-Export Declaration for RTX 5090 Sales
Micro Center has reportedly begun asking some RTX 5090 buyers for ID and a signed no-export declaration. A Redditor says a manager at the Tustin store had them fill out an "Advanced Computing Product Purchaser Declaration" and scan their driver's license. The retailer has not officially commented.
- The form certifies buyers will not export the hardware or resell it for export
- Staff described the process as new, starting about two days earlier
- The RTX 5090 is not officially sold in China under US export rules
- German listings for the RTX 5090 recently passed €5,000, up 73% since January
