US firm’s brick battery can discharge energy at 3,275°F for industrial heat

Holcim has partnered with Electrified Thermal Solutions to deploy two Joule Hive thermal batteries for high-temperature processes in cement production. The devices store electricity as heat in conductive bricks and release it at temperatures up to 1800°C (3275°F). The installation site and launch date were not disclosed.
