Boston Dynamics unveils new Atlas hands with four fingers
Boston Dynamics showed off a new pair of hands for its Atlas robot: four fingers instead of five and 13 degrees of freedom, up from seven on the older GR2 gripper. Each joint is driven by a motor tucked inside the finger, while pads on the fingertips and palm detect even the lightest touch.

- Motors sit inside the fingers, eliminating external wiring
- Thumb has four joints and can meet any other finger
