NSW to upgrade digital driver's licences with selective disclosure for age proof

The government of New South Wales, Australia, has launched a pilot of an upgraded digital driver's licence in the Service NSW app, allowing users to prove their age at pubs and clubs via a secure QR code. The technology, provided by New Zealand-based Mattr, uses selective disclosure to share only the required information. The state is investing $11.5 million in digital identity enhancements.
