Audible adds AI features: character guides and chats with book characters

Audible introduced three new features: a character guide, interactive AI-powered stories, and bonus imagery about places mentioned in books. They debut with "Dracula" on October 1, plus "1984" and "Exoplanet."

• The character guide shows who's speaking in real time and offers spoiler-free character cards
• In "Dracula," listeners can talk to Renfield as the AI character reacts in real time
• Bonus imagery about landmarks and places starts with just one title
• U.S. audiobook sales reached $2.43 billion in 2025
