US lawmaker Ro Khanna asks five AI firms how they guard model weights from China

Congressman Ro Khanna sent letters to the CEOs of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta and SpaceX asking about attempts by China to steal their model weights and the cybersecurity measures they use. He also wrote to Chinese labs DeepSeek, Alibaba and Moonshot AI and to the US intelligence community.
