Bain & Co: AI industry needs $6 trillion in revenue by 2031

Bain & Co's Global Technology Report 2026 estimates the AI sector must generate $6 trillion a year by 2031 to fund its planned infrastructure buildout, while existing consumer and enterprise AI apps may bring in only $1.2–1.8 trillion. Vendors would need up to $4.8 trillion in new revenue, even as organizations' IT costs are forecast to rise 75%.
