Agentic commerce hype grows, but shopping bots are years away

Mastercard published a report on what's needed to make agentic commerce workable, projecting up to $1 trillion in US retail by 2030. Amazon has already blocked Meta's Muse and Perplexity bots, and experts say AI agents still can't complete purchases without human intervention.
