SpaceX reveals Starmind orbital data center timeline
SpaceX plans to launch the first satellites of its Starmind orbital data center in 2027. CFO Bret Johnsen said at a Goldman Sachs conference on Sept. 10 that the company targets 5–10 GW of terrestrial data center capacity by 2027 and further scaling in 2028. The AI1 satellite would initially average about 120 kW for computing.
