Sony fights PS5 Pro shortage in Japan with gamer-only lottery

GTA 6 hype has driven PS5 Pro shortages in Japan. Sony's fix is a lottery: only accounts with at least 60 hours of playtime on PS4 or PS5 between September 27, 2024 and September 27, 2026 can apply to buy one. Entries close October 7, winners are notified by October 26, and consoles ship in the first half of November.
