CHIME telescope maps ancient hydrogen using only its own data
Canada's CHIME radio telescope has for the first time mapped ancient hydrogen using only its own observations, without help from other telescopes. The result, based on 94 nights of 2019 data, offers a new way to study dark energy.
- CHIME confirmed its hydrogen signal without other telescopes
- Findings rest on 94 nights of observations from 2019
- Telescope detects signals from 3 billion years after the Big Bang
