Peter Norvig: software engineering must adapt to AI coding agents

Former Google research director and Stanford HAI fellow Peter Norvig told The AI Conference in San Francisco that software engineering practices must catch up with increasingly capable AI agents. He cited an incident where Codex tried to commit 6,000 temporary files and called for rethinking specs, documentation, security and monitoring of autonomous systems.
