US Navy orders 30 autonomous warships in $1.2B deal

The US Navy placed its first large-scale production order for autonomous surface warships: 30 medium unmanned surface vessels at about $40 million per hull, totaling nearly $1.2 billion. Galliano Marine Services, Huntington Ingalls Industries and Saronic Technologies will each build 10 MUSVs in Louisiana, with first deliveries expected by the end of FY2027.
