Adaptive headlights finally reach the US market

Adaptive driving beams (ADBs), long available in Europe and Asia, are starting to reach US roads after NHTSA updated its lighting rules in 2022. The systems dim only the LED segments that would glare into other drivers' eyes while keeping the rest of the road lit. Rivian, Tesla, Audi, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz are rolling out the feature, though US standards are stricter than elsewhere.
