OpenAI expands ChatGPT plugins with app-like interfaces and automations

At Dev Day, OpenAI introduced plugin extensions that give apps a dedicated home in ChatGPT's sidebar and let developers build interactive panels for use during chats. The company also launched a Plugin Creator tool, redesigned the plugin directory, and added support for the proposed MCP Events spec to trigger automations.
