Kenya loses 34,000 mobile money agents in three months

Kenya's Communications Authority reports registered mobile money agents fell 5.6% between March and June 2026, from 602,470 to 568,463. Subscriptions rose 1.2% to 54.01 million, up 13.2% year-on-year, as payments shift to digital channels like Buy Goods tills, Pochi la Biashara and PayBill.
