The Coalition: Gears of War: E-Day's intended difficulty is Hardcore
The Coalition creative director Matt Searcy said Hardcore is the intended difficulty for Gears of War: E-Day's campaign, even though the game defaults to Normal. The campaign offers four modes — Casual, Normal, Hardcore and Insane — with per-player difficulty in co-op. It launches on Xbox and PC on 1 October.
