Malaysia introduces new MyKad with 53 security features and NFC

Malaysia begins phased issuance of the new generation MyKad identity card on September 17, 2026. The card features a polycarbonate body, dynamic hologram, UV elements, transparent window, QR code, and a dual-interface chip with contact and contactless NFC. Touch 'n Go function is absent in the new MyKad.
